    I like having the grand spectacle of a new year in a liturgical sense, but I wonder why I focus on it so much. Same thought with “His mercies are new every morning.” Obviously we don’t have to wait till the new year to bring around change; it could be every half year, or every week, or morning, or…

    or maybe the truth of it all is that the entire direction of my life can change in any given moment.

    it can. in a moment.
    like when i thought for a second my flight today was cancelled. (it’s not.)
    i guess we as humans need something to hang on to.. a moment that we can say- thats when this happened, or that’s when i’ll do this.. we need markers.
    hmmm. interesting though.
